TRAVELODGE Poole parking

I stayed at this hotel in sept for four days.I was offered free Car Parking providing i registered my vehicle on arrival which i did.Two weeks later I received parking tickets for the third and fourth nights I contacted SMARTPARK  immediately and pointed out my residency Despite both TRAVELODGE manager on site and TRAVELODGE head office confirming my stay and registration SMARTPARK have refuse to cancel the ticket,stating the ticket was correctly issued.This has now progressed to the threatening letters of a debt collector.This is a very stressful situation for an 83year old.TRAVELODGE have offered to reimburse me for the fine,but this would mean me saying I was wrongly parked which meant a lie.TRAVELODGE say they are unable to pay this directly presumably because that would admit some liability on their part? Any advice gratefully received.

Are the Travelodge covering the whole amount that the PPC is asking for at the moment?

SmartPark?  That of itself is not a recognised name. Can you look very carefully at what you've received and please confirm the name of the parking firm. Complete accuracy is essential so we don't send you off in a wrong direction.

Consider writin bad stuff on TripAdvisor, Trivago, booking.com, and hotels.com , and complain to your MP.

Oh no, this would have been cancelled with ONE appeal email without saying who was driving.  Such an easy one to appeal if you know how.

Anyway let Travelodge pay you back.

Next time, come here before appealing and don't say who was driving.

Smart Parking are based in Perth but the advice stands.  Would have been a pushover to appeal as keeper, so you may as well take Travelodge up on their offer and put it behind you.

ASSUME you have that in writing and it will be paid in full ... IE: Cheque or to your bank and NOT a voucher or credit note

ON THAT BASIS, all Smart want is money and the only reason you are paying is because the hotel said they would repay you.  You are not admitting to anything

Why this hotel group employ such vermin is beyond common sense
A quick internet search will show all about the scammers called Smart Parking ...... 

What fool at TRAVELODGE employed this scam outfit ?   Is the fool on commission ?   The CEO of Travelodge should investigate because no company in their right mind should employ SMART ... UNLESS ... they want to lose customers

After reading this I have decided not to book to stay at the Poole Travelodge for next week and will stay at the Premier Inn further up the road. Been passed it may times when I have taken my parents into Poole for the day.

I would be tempted to say to Smart Parking to take me to court and present the confirmation of stay and registration from Travelodge as evidence. Pointing out to Travelodge that you will let Smart Parking take you to court and make Travelodge liable for costs if the Judge did not rule in your favour.

However anyone booking a hotel. especially online, they should phone the hotel to check if one of these parking vermin are present.  If the answer is YES ...... CANCEL THE BOOKING and tell them why
