Can i use a PCR test bought in the UK as my fit to fly test to be able to board the plane when returning from Canada, as tests are much more expensive than the UK ?

A PCR test has to be sent to a lab to be processed- the UK test providers will specify which lab you need to return them to ( which will be in the UK )
You can use a LFD bought in UK with a certified result- this is acceptable for entry to UK,
Check your airline doesn’t have any additional requirements.0 -
I thought it had to be a PCR test ? I'm not familier with "LFD bought in UK with a certified result", do you have a link please ?

The Day 2 test when you are back in UK has to be a PCR , the test before you fly can be either PCR or LFD
There is a list in this MSE articleCheap pre-departure rapid antigen tests before you return to the UK

In theory you could but you need to factor in the cost of a courier to get it to the lab in the UK and the results back to you (normally by email) all within 2 days of your flight time... unless your PCR test was a same day then that would mean you need a same day international courier thats able to take bio-hazardous material which if it exists will be much more than a local lateral flow test.instantsunshine said:Can i use a PCR test bought in the UK as my fit to fly test to be able to board the plane when returning from Canada, as tests are much more expensive than the UK ?0 -
