This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

            Morning all.
Thanks for the thread Gers and hugs to all those in need .
Still in bed here as I'm too lazy to get up. I shall turn the heating on when I get up so by the time I've walked Beano there will be hot water and I can have a shower. If it's not raining as may so I to the wharf cafe for breakfast. I must post a card to one of my grandsons, for his 16th birthday.
Have a good day everyone .
 Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.12

Morning folks.I hope that nmlc is OK, can't recall her talking about going away this week.Yesterday turned into a bit busy in the afternoon. Two chaps arrived to put up the two new blinds for the upstairs hall and second bedroom. They were very friendly though installed one wrong blind. That was sorted out very swiftly. Then the chap up the hill came to try to plug the gap between the back door and its frame. The building is so old that it's quite wonky. He brought his lovely dog who plonked himself in front of the wood burner. Just as we were settled the very elderly father of the chap appeared to deliver a Christmas card. It was so lovely to see him as he doesn't go out much. Having him here was delightful even without the wee drams we all had!Today I'm off to do some shopping in Oban and then will collect a loaf from my newly-found baker. After that, who knows. I've been sent a 'twig' in a pot which needs dealing with. It's a very small and bare Japanese Maple. I've no idea what do with it so need to do some research before planting it somewhere. My thoughts turn towards our poorlies and missing a lot. I'm pleased about Coxy's beloved Dad and Camelot's DGD too. I'm imagining Carolbee setting off on her big Australian trip today and being envious about it.Happy Friday to all.14

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Dare I say it but it feels marginally milder this morning! But the heating is on anyway just in case!
I don't much like Fridays as it's dust and vac all round day but at least I got the bathroom and kitchen cleaned yesterday to ease the burden a bit. Other than that yesterday ended up a bit of a messing about sort of day with not much to show for it. Tea was an easy one as I got a bag of my chilli out and enjoyed that with hm wedges and a bit of salad. Not thought about today's eats yet, other than brekkie which will be a dippy egg and soldiers when I finish roaming about on here.
DD is freaking out as there have been 3 positive tests amongst staff where she works and the wings are all in lockdown with no visitors allowed. They are all doing LFTs daily and due a CPR today. Like most folk with families, just before Christmas, with so much to do, is not the best time for having to isolate. So fingers are well and truly crossed for her. The girls are in a show tomorrow night and we are all supposed to be going but that's up in the air till the CPR result is back!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, convalescing or bereaved. Take care one and all and be safe xx

            Morning everyone
I didn't get on the thread yesterday - website wouldn't come up when I tried to start the thread first thing yesterday - so kept trying up until I went to work, then I tried once I got home and it was ok - so not sure what happened there!
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Still getting light but damp underfoot and blustery. DH watching catchup tv, DS1 still in his pit - both have leave from work today, DH and myself are going to a funeral later and DS1 took yesterday and today as holiday to use some up and it was his birthday yesterday. DS2 settled and happy. I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my porridge and a cuppa.
Dinner last night was SM takeaway indian was DS1's choice for his birthday - was ok but not the best. Not sure what we'll be eating later depends how we feel, but I have some food in - I'm sure I can make some kind of meal. I'm going to do the food shop tomorrow morning.
Yesterday work wasn't too bad, had some really busy periods although from Monday with the restrictions it may go dead again - we'll see.
 Keep safe and well x

            Morning
Chilly here to but glad to see the back of the storm
Bella I miss nan too I hope she is OK and just busy with RL
Yesterday my knitting needles arrived so Ive started my cardi and managed the first rib. Hands played along for a while although my speed has dropped frighteningly I estimate this is going to take a very long time. Hey ho no rush. I had to put the "big light" on as as well as choosing a pretty complicated pattern I also chose a dark purple wool. Reminded me of of my dad who was the lights police in our house following us around switching off lights and grumping about the cost He particularly hated having the "big light" on in the lounge. Consequently I really cringe putting mine on now! He particularly hated having the "big light" on in the lounge. Consequently I really cringe putting mine on now!
Today I have a kitchen tidy planned and some washing to sort and get upstairs. Food will be fish chips and peas later and no doubt some couch time
 Have a good day all

Morning, hugs if you need one, just managed out of bed, I have yet another bladder infection, spoke to the Dr on Tuesday she promised meds, they came yesterday minus the anti b's so I had a 'discussion' with the receptionist...... they should come this morning.... why am I not holding my breath? Our Drs were superb before the lock down, now you have to go through so many hoops to even speak to the Dr. then she forgets to put medication on the script.
Lunch at the little chapel today, so very light breakfast or we will not be able to eat, we usually have a snack at lunch time and main meal in the evening........so very light supper if needed.
Load of whites in the washer, they will go in the dryer, its sunny, but like yesterday its perishingly cold!!9

Morning all, hope you are all well. I've just had a catch up back to Wed which is the last time I read the Daily.Welcome back Marie lovely to see you.Good to read the various ops and procedures went well.I had a lovely lunch with my cousins, our youngest one came- she's still working so can't make it very often. My DB1 also stopped by for half an hour, he told me not to say anything beforehand in case he didnt make it so they were all very pleased to see him, in some cases it's been a few years since they saw him. We nattered on and on so I only got back half an hour before DH. Luckily I'd taken a previously cooked stew out of the freezer, when I took the lid off I saw it already had baby potatoes in so it was even easier.Today I'm going to go on the bus to Bury market /shopping centre and pick up a few things, & DGD to collect from school later. I really need to post 2 cards for abroad but not sure I have enough time to get to a post office today There is also some foam arriving to stuff underneath the sofa and chair to make it a bit comfier, the 1 seat we tried last week was a success so we'll do the rest There is also some foam arriving to stuff underneath the sofa and chair to make it a bit comfier, the 1 seat we tried last week was a success so we'll do the rest Have a good day all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
