Is it necessary to replace plastic consumer unit with metal? (EICR)

I would have thought a grand would have bought you an all-RCBO CU ( effectively, all circuits have their own mcb and rcd). That's what I prefer if I am living somewhere, and what I would have in any rental. As well as being safer, it makes fault finding easier.0

We're not definitely renting it out, and if we do that will be more than a year from now. So it's very helpful to know what we would need to do if we did, but I don't want to be spending megabucks at the moment if it's not needed.0

can you post the report, or just the page with the recommendations on and the page with the circuit details on (last page)
a plastic consumer unit isn't a C2 unless theres a really good reason for it.
a 13 year old consumer unit should be easy to upgrade if this "kitchen appliance" circuit is indeed non RCD protected (i.e, fit an RCBO)

There is no binding re-inspection period for private residential dwellings.Webxite said:
The electrician has put 2026 as the recommended date for the next inspection. Am I bound by that? From what I had thought, every 10 years was the minimum.
However, a rental property will need an inspection at least every 5 years.0 -
I shall try!fenwick458 said:can you post the report, or just the page with the recommendations on and the page with the circuit details on (last page)
