No update from BG?

Hi,
I was moved from Peoples Energy and ended up with British Gas. They have sent me a welcome pack along with the new tariff of £1000.98 for the electric and £615 for the gas. However, that's it. I haven't heard from them at all, no money has been taken out from my bank account, no idea of what we have to pay each month and when. It's been 2 months since we've had the email of our new tariff, and we've heard nothing since. 
I tried to contact BG, by phone and a chatbot online, but on the phone, I was told that my new monthly bill would increase from £100 ( what we used to pay for gas and electric from Peoples Energy) to £245 per month, and by the chatbot it would remain the same as before (£100) which led to some confusion!
I'm no longer any clearer as to what and when I'm to pay BG!!
Has anyone had a final estimated tariff, and has their payments started?

Key for you perhaps is that everyone is initially going onto quarterly billing while they sort out transferring the DD from PE.

The tariff is at the same rate regardless of it being monthly DD or quarterly 'cash or cheque' so there is no need to rush to change anything, just set aside the money you will need, if you've already cancelled the PE DD.

If you do decide to set up a BG DD and move to monthly do remember to cancel the PE DD or you may end up paying both...

Your tariff details are also linked from that page above... check the unit/standing charge details, don't rely on this bit .."along with the new tariff of £1000.98 for the electric and £615 for the gas" that is just an estimate based on what they believe you will use.

Thanks for your quick reply! At the moment, we're putting aside, the same amount we used to pay with Peoples Energy which is £99 per month. Of course, I reckon it'll be much higher than this by the time BG have  finished sorting things out. However, It would have been nice to know exactly how much our new DD will be, but I guess we're in the same boat as a lot of other customers! We are continuing using the same amount of electric/gas, so the new DD will hopefully be more reflective of our actual use. When the new monthly DD is settled, then's the time to get worried!!
