V5 Address
Options
I'm selling my car Friday and have realised that my V5 address is different to my licence/tax/insurance etc.
The V5 address and address on the licence are both my addresses, I live and stay at both and can be contacted at both.
Does anyone know if this will be an issue when selling if they are different? I can provide bills/statements in my name for both addresses to prove that I live there
TIA

No problem at all.

If you are selling it then, at that point, the DVLA are only really concerned that the new keeper is correct.
Any refund of tax will be automatically sent by cheque to the address on the V5 which in your case is one of your addresses.
Is it a private sale - I recently sold a car and was amazed at how easy it was to do the new keeper transfer online - did it on my mobile and takes about 1 minute if you have the V5 to hand and the buyer tells you their address.0 -
Are you selling it from the V5 address, your other address or somewhere else?
If not the V5 address, a buyer may query your ownership of the car so be prepared for that. Have solid proof of both addresses with you when you meet potential buyers.
A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
Same thing happened to me a few weeks ago when I sold mine. The poeple buying it noticed that the address was different, and simply asked "did you used to live there?", and I said yes, I just forgot to submit the chnage of address to DVLA. They bought the car, I did the new keeper bit online, all was fine. Luckily my old address was my parents' so they will receive my check for tax refund, but that may be your only problem if you don't have access to the old address anymore. Maybe go round there and ask the occupiers to look out for it, if they haven't received it already. Or phone DVLA and explain, they might be able to cancel the check sent to your old address and re-issue it to your new one.

Only an issue if the car is HPi checked.
I live up north and worked down south 3 days a week.
Had the register car down south for parking permit.
But licence insurance we’re up north as spent most of the time there.
