How do I remove fraud from National Hunter file.
My wife and I applied for a mortgage in April, and it was turned down at the underwriting stage. It happened again in October. Both are credit scores are excellent. We were advised to check our national hunter files, which until that point I had not heard of. Her file has the initial mortgage that was turned down on there. Mine had that too, but also 4 instances of ID theft/credit fraud that I have previously had removed from my credit score. What are the next steps for me to take here? Why have these remained on my hunter file when they were already removed from Experian etc ?

You would need to approach the lender that put the data there. But if they believe your wife committed fraud, it will remain. If they believe she was a victim, it will have no impact on her ability to obtain credit, bar some extra checks.
Remember that your credit scores are irrelevant for lending. Lenders will be looking at your credit files, as well as CIFAS and National Hunter.1 -
National Hunter is a resource shared by lenders. Being aware of previous attempts to defraud lenders by identity theft is a material fact. Protects you too.
No reason why this should be a reason for a decline. Lenders have their own internal scoring systems. Your credit score is irrelevant.1
