Radiator leaks

Hi all,

been a long time stalker and got some amazing tips but now I am in need of help and I haven’t seen any posts regarding the issue im having.

I have recently moved into a house and the radiator is leaking out of an empty pipe which doesn’t lead anywhere. I have attached a picture it’s the small pipe at the bottom coming off with no other pipes going into it. This is just dripping water, I can fill up a small bowl in a day.

any ideas??

It’s a drain off valve, the washer inside might need replacing. But first try and tighten it. Turn the square head anti clockwise carefully

That pipe is used to drain that radiator or the whole central heating system.
You would put a length of hose on it & lead it outside your house then turn the nut next to that pipe to open the valve & drain all the water out.
To stop the drip put a spanner on the nut & try & tighten it slightly.
Hold the rest of the valve with your other hand.
Be very careful or you may make things worse than they are !

Clockwise, as you look at it end-on. It is effectively a conventional 'tap' - it turns the same way.
Turn - tweak - it by a couple of mm only. Then note if the drips have stopped.
