So, here we are looking at ways to save money while Thames Water take will no doubt find a way to charge me extra thorough a compulsary water meter. So, I came across a device called a 'water saving shower head'..in my inexperience is this just a gimmick or do they actually work?
While I am at it any other water saving ideas appreciated

Don't use one on an electric shower unless they specifically say that you can.Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.0

Not sure if this is valid in your area, but they will send you aerators to fit to showers (if suitable) and taps in the house for free:If the water shaving shower head that you saw is one of those that has beads in it, you'll probably be disappointed with the flow rate!If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!

There not a bad single mode shower head, regulated at 7 liters per minute. As already mentioned not suitable for every shower installation.
2 free showerheads a year
Even got my customers buying them to replace their scaled up shower heads
(and save water).
Different Water companies will have different offerings. Down my way they also do a cistern bag
, shower regulator as already mentioned and often seasonal offers like subsidised water butts delivered and fitted.
Great idea
edit, They also send out free kitchen tap adaptors to reduce water flow and leaky loo strips.

I guess it depends how often and for how long you shower. You are also paying to heat the hot water you use, so using a reduced-flow shower head will save more than the cost of the water on your water meter.roddydogs said:Like the cost of water for a shower is tiny! The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1 -
Thames water have a water saving calculator, unmetered customers may not be concerned about their water usage but the calculator also works out the kwh to heat your water & carbon emissions kg which the customer has created.tacpot12 said:
