Ofgem news - Shell Energy Supply UK Limited (Edit: Sorry Non-Domestic it seems)

Comments

  • I saw that. What does it mean? Just admin housekeeping by Ofgem, or is Shell jacking electricity supply in?

Looking at it further and digging a bit I think it may relate to some of its non-domestic supply rather than domestic retail as I think the domestic side is Shell Energy Retail Limited.

If so apologies if this panicked anyone.
  • Perhaps Ofgem should have made that a lot clearer.

Yes, I think you're right. All the recent Shell announcements (until this one) have related to the Shell energy Retail Limited, while Shell energy Supply UK Limited only held a non-domestic supply licence.

  • @Shedman Having said that, it could have been the retail side. I thought it might have explained it taking so long to sort out ex Green Supplier customers... ;)

I’m not concerned about this. The revocation of the supply licence was requested by shell energy supply Ltd some time ago. This is a formality. It’s almost certainly not linked to shell energy retail. Different company numbers.

no way Ofgem would have transferred via SOLR if they knew that shell energy retail were exiting the industry.
