Need a new boiler - current one is working but its 14yrs old Ideal thats just been repaired recently again under cover.
For a boiler replacement had a quote for a Viessmann Vitodens 100 30kw inc magnateic filter and standard wirelss controls for £2450.
I had a quick look at the parts - the boiler is £1200 from Screwfix and thermostat, filter and I assume sundries would be about anouther £400
So about £1600-£1700 for materials so is it right that labour should be about £750-850 for a day?
Installer said it would take a day. Or am I missing some materials costs as I was surpised at the quote price esp for Huddersfield.

£2450 is a very good price for a boiler swap. I think you have missed the flue parts out of your estimate for materials.
It will be a full day 7+hrs for them to replace the boiler and commission a new one, and they might want/need to stay a bit later if there is any sort of problem. Our swap (two years ago) took a day and half, but we needed a condensate drain and a thermostat adding, plus the pump needed to be set-up for overrun under the boiler control. We paid £2,800 two years ago. We're only an hour south of you.
Don't forget that you are not just paying for the time they are on-site, but the time to get the boiler plus other parts, and for any call backs. Also, there are likely to be two workers; one senior, one junior, and a van to pay for.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1 -

Screwfix are selling the flue as a free extra if you buy the boiler.1
