So I've been using my in home display unit to see how much gas and electricity im spending.
Yesterday around 11pm after having had boiler on for total of 2.5hrs throughout the day and electricity from wfh etc. it said I had spent £2.86. However when I got up this morning I went back to check yesterday and it now says I spent £1.56. Why is there such a huge change?
I'm just concerned because if im trying to stick to a budget say £3 a day how can I actually know how much I spent if on the day it says I spent more than I have and the next day it seems to adjust itself.

Bear in mind that the two standing charges will be added to the daily total at the start of the day (c.0001hrs).0

Let me make life a little easier for you. Download the App BRIGHT (it is free) and sign up as requested. It will show you the daily usage in kWhs plus cost.LilMissSunshine said:So I've been using my in home display unit to see how much gas and electricity im spending.

To clarify at 11pm yday I noted i had spent £2.86 for gas and electricity for the day
This morning I went to my monitor and looked back to yday stats and it said I have spent £1.56 for both gas and electricity
So how comes it would go down?0 -
IHDs can sometimes have a mind of their own. They rely upon bluetooth and if something is interferring with the signal, then incorrect info can be shown.
The Bright App has also had weird and wonderful moments with me and is not something which I would say can be wholly relied upon.
As with all forms of technology, when it works, it is great. When it does not ...
Edit
My IHD seems to play up twice a year. On the day the clocks go either forwards or backwards. That day's gas showing is always zero. The next day it sorts itself out.

Bright reads from dcc, so if anything its the dcc data thats iffy.PennineAcute said:IHDs can sometimes have a mind of their own. They rely upon bluetooth and if something is interferring with the signal, then incorrect info can be shown.

It downloads once per day at about 3am. It will update if you manually swipe it but this isn’t instant. The refresh rate is much higher if you pay for Hildebrand’s IHD/CAD.Swipe said:

Ok well im not really looking to pay £60 for a IHD. I raised it with EDF. Because I am concerned that I can't accurately budget how much gas I am usuing if it changes like this.
I have set up the hone energy hub part in the EDF App and I asked the support guy if that is accurate cos it says I spent total of £45 a month in gas and elec in November which does match my IHD stat and he said yes the energy hub information is accurate. Remains to be seen I suppose when I get my bill in Feb 22.0
