We are off to NYC at the end of next week. The rules have changed yet again with regard to covid testing. My understanding is we have to now perform a Telehealth fit to fly antigen or PCR test within 24hrs of departure. Take a LFT/antigen test with us to be carried out within 48hrs of our return and then have the day 2 test PCR booked for our return. That fact that this is all a massive faff and due to not being able to cancel we are going for it full steam ahead getting things sorted out. My question is the test that we take with us to be performed within 48hrs before our return is just done on trust? So perform the test and show the result at check in or what? Bit confused how this can be done and prove that the test results are for each individual? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

yes ok thanks. but I wasn't sure how the test can be performed and proven to be done by the individual. for example one person who is negative could perform 2 swab tests and give one to someone else within the group0

Is there not a video used for the test?0

Each company has different ways of verifying the test. Some require you to upload a photo, some require you to do the whole thing on webcam.0

Who are you buying the tests from? They will advise you what they require to issue the required certificate.
You cannot use the NHS tests.0 -
The best place to start is go to the test provider's website and read the FAQs/instructions and it should explain it all. Essentially the only difference between them and the NHS 'free' tests is that there is a third party verifying the results but as I said each individual provider has slightly different ways of doing this.0

Thanks for your comments. Plenty of info on the test providers website along with instructional videos. I was probably a bit premature with my post but quite anxious about the prep needed but better now. Thanks agian0

Not a problem. To be fair the whole thing is a bit of an ever-changing, slightly confusing mess so absolutely no issues with being anxious about it.0
