Where does the rain water go from my roof?

My house is an end of terraced, one of 5 houses.
I think the rear garden water drains off into a pit.
We have a manhole cover on the front drive and the kitchen and bathrooms are to the front of all 5 houses.
The house was built in 1969. Does the front roof rain water go into the drain? The down-pipe is to the side of the house and next doors water comes down our way front and back.

Depends what system(separate or combined) you have.0

Sometimes grey water (sinks, baths etc) and black water (sewage) are combined into the main drains together, and sometimes there are separate mains drains for each. Why not lift your manhole cover and experiment by flushing the loo and then running the kitchen tap to see which, or both, pass your manhole?0

I would expect rainwater from front and back to go into drains rather than soakaways in a property built comparatively recently.

Working it out can be difficult, even for the experts, as it is quite common for surface water drainage to have fewer (or no) manholes compared to foul water drainage.
What is the reason you want to find out? Is it to claim a rebate on your water bill for not having surface water drainage connected to the main sewers?

Ok all, I thank you for your time and help. Front garden block paving. Just wanted to find out why our front and rear gutters overflow during heavy rain. Gutters are clear I had them checked this year.0
