Choosing next suppliers

So in the past couple of weeks, I've had my electricity supplier (Bulb) and my gas supplier (Zog) go bust. I started going with the smaller energy suppliers about 6 or 7 years ago but this is the 3rd electricity supplier go bust on me. Zog have been supplying my gas since 2016 and its a shame they have gone bust because they were very good.

Now I have to find new suppliers but I'm wondering if its time to go back to the "big suppliers" even if it costs more? Are there any good suppliers outside the "big six" that can provide a good and cheaper supply of gas and leccy but are less likely to go into administration like a lot of them are doing now? Thanks.

Probably not a good time to switch because anything you're likely to be offered will be at silly prices.  Just stay with Bulb and EDF for the the time being and hope that things settle down before next autumn.

No you don't.  Bulb are continuing to trade in special administration backed by the Government and your Zog supply will be taken over by EDF.

And as above its not a good time to switch anyway.

Ok thanks for that. I wasn't going to switch from Bulb at the moment anyway because of the nature of the current arrangement but I may wish to switch away from EDF at some point in the future. I just wanted to know if there were any suppliers outside the big six that offered a decent level of supply security.

The Big Six are only the Big Five these days; BG, EDF, EON/nPower, OVO/SSE, SP.
Then you've got Octopus, Shell and Bulb, all with millions of customers. As seen with Bulb, these aren't "too big to fail" but should be relatively safe.
