Canon MG3650s prints zig-zag vertical lines !!

I have an MG 3650s canon printer and it has started to print vertical lines that are sort of zig-zag. I have done both the automatic (no change) and manual head alignment, a little better but not perfect yet . I have done this four times now.The slight offset of print is enough for the Post Office to fail to read the QR/Bar Codes it prints out. Do I need to keep doing a manual alignment until all is ok or is there something else to try ?
I have done a nozzle clean and the test page is fine.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks. Brian.

Thanks but Yes. I have cleaned the strip twice although it did not look dirty. No change. unfortunately.
I have attached a picture of the problem.

Some printers used to have a 'print unidirectionally' setting to address that type of issue, no idea if your does ?
I know that would be just masking the issue and would be a bit slower
but if it got the prints you need1 -
Ever considered the the black cartridge being faulty?I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world1

Yes, I'm beginning to think that this might have something to do with it. The black one in the printer is a Canon one but I do refill it with ink (needle and syringe). I am going to get another Canon original black and see if that makes a difference.interstellaflyer said:Ever considered the the black cartridge being faulty?

That's probably the cause then, the print head is in the printer cartridge on those machines and as they are technically single use the print head will deteriorate over time.4jbl7 said:
