Locking in car insurance quote

Are you expecting to be able to go back to the comparison site 'x' days after the first quote and for the figure to be the same when you do a new search? I don't think that's the way it works. Only after you go to the actual insurers site and enter your full details will you get a quote guaranteed for 30 days or so. That's been my experience anyway.

You lock in the quotes by doing several. Start on the 23 (or 21 days-whatever Martin says) and repeat the quotes, ie do them again. The quote will be emailed to you, usually if you are using the comparison sites or going direct. Pick and choose which one is best. I've recently renewed and my best price came 6 days before renewal.kimwp said:How to actually do this? I'm trying to do this as per the latest weekly email, but I've got quotes before and then when I have revisited them (without changing any details), the quotes have changed.0 -
Thank you @TELLIT01, I wasn't doing a new search, but clicking on the link to the best quote in the email that the comparison website sent after the first search. It looks like I'd need to go one step further than that initial search based on your experience.TELLIT01 said:kimwp said:I am confused as to how to get that first quote to stand for the 30 day (or whatever) period though as I'm sure it previously recalculated when I revisited a quote (clicking on the link in the comparison site email).
