The government deposited £10 into my bank account this morning and I'm not on benefits. It was a nice surprise. I am pretty old, though. And I hate the way they call state pensions 'benefits'. I worked jolly hard for my contribution to pensions! Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. If it's not a benefit then what else would you call it? Criteria for this bonus is here, which includes State Pension. https://www.gov.uk/christmas-bonus/eligibility

My daughter received this £10 bonus as a widowed mother in thee 1980's. She used to buy 200 ciggies and a bottle of whisky, seems to have devalued a bit since then.
