PfP automatic switch to British Gas April 22 tariff

The price for that tariff is at the current cap anyway so it doesn't really matter if they move you to another tariff.JoB56 said:Was moved to this tariff when PFP failed. At no time was I told I would have to have a smart meter, but only now been told if I don’t have one fitted I will have to move on to another tariff (no doubt more expensive). Is this permissible anyone know?1 -
... but no, the SoLR is not allowed to switch you from their agreed tariff for 6 months.

How have they told you this? If it was by email it could just be spurious or an error. There's no smart meter requirement on the SoLR Price Promise April 22 tariff.0

Thanks, yes, ,this was by email. I did think it was a scam at first, but it did look genuine. I deleted it anyway but just thought it was odd, not to mention sharp practise!bagand96 said:How have they told you this? If it was by email it could just be spurious or an error. I have this email as well.
I submitted a meter reading yesterday and today I received 2 emails from them. One said I could save the hassle of reading my meter if I had a smart meter. This was followed up by one saying that I had signed up to a tariff requiring a smart meter and I needed to arrange a fitting or move to another tariff.

Just got an email from BG saying this previous email was sent in error and I don't need to move to a smart meter.
