Green energy still taking direct debits

Even though Green energy have transferred my outstanding balance to Shell, they're still taking direct debits. Initially Shell said not to cancel the DD as it would be transferred, but on Friday 3 Dec they changed their advice and said I need to cancel the old one and set up a new one. When I logged into the bank, I found that Green had taken another DD payment, which Shell aren't aware of. The bank (Nationwide) said that because the DD hadn't been cancelled at the time of the payment there was nothing they could do.

Hoping that the money eventually gets sorted out, but in the meantime, check your accounts, folks.

Like many on here Green emailed to say last DD taken in October .
  • This has happened to me also - Green took a DD today, even thought I have a DD for Shell setup to come out in a few days.

I've now cancelled my DD with Green - hoping the whole balance will be transferred.
