Switching Current Account to HSBC - requesting pension statements

Hi
When employed I used to switch accounts quite regularly. I haven't done it for a while but decided to switch our joint Nationwide FlexAccount to HSBC account. We are now retired. I have had an email from them requesting we upload pension statements. Previous switches went through without sight of any documents, although I would have provided employer address. I am not sure what they mean by pension statements. My husband is in receipt of state pension he doesn't have a statement for that however it has been less than 12 months since it started and perhaps you get a statement after 12 months? We also have personal pensions and annually receive a letter advising current values of fund value and drawdown details.
It does look like a genuine email however I will check it out first. Just wondered if this was the normal process?

HSBC are very choosy. They don't want customers with low incomes - that's why they ask for proofs if they have any doubts. Are there no statements available online that you could print out or screenshot?0

Based on timings reported in here I'm hopeful mine will be a nice extra Christmas/New Year 'present'0

I just hope this isn't the first of many requests.
