Hi all, we recently got an Envirovent system installed and it’s really making the top floor of the house cold despite the heating being on 22C, it’s a constant stream of cold air which makes it so unpleasant to be upstairs during the winter. Has anyone had a similar experience please or can suggest anything? Thanks so much

Is this a basic Positive Input Ventilation system or a proper Mechanical Heat Ventilation Recovery system ?A MHVR will extract heat from the outgoing air and use it to warm the fresh air going in. It may also use an electric heating element to boost the temperature.A PIV may or may not have a heating element to warm the air up - Good ones will, but they are not cheap to run. Don't know about the Envirovent systems (they do both MHVR and PIV). Quite possible the system has been set up incorrectly or wrongly specified. First step would be to give them a call and get them to sort it to your satisfaction. Her courage will change the world.

Hi
I have got a Mr Venty, the forerunner to the current Envirovent system. I have never had an issue with this, does your system have a comfort heater, and is it enabled?0 -
I have a PIV unit on my landing (Nuaire drimaster). Ours has various levels of output - does yours? Maybe try turning it down a bit. I've had to turn mine down as like you say, it makes the area feel cold. During winter it stops most of the condensation so I just have to open the windows a little bit in a morning to let the little bit that's left on the windows dry out.
Ours does have a heater but I no longer use it. I think it runs at about 500W and makes barely any difference in cold weather - it probably costs less to have the central heating running a bit longer.0 -
Have you talked to the installer about this problem? The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0
