Online scam

I very stupidly purchased a very expensive dog bed online after seeing loads of adverts on FB for the company.

The bed arrived and it’s a third of the depth that’s shown on their website.  It’s dreadful quality.  The website promises:

“Can I return Bella&Toby™ Bed if I am not satisfied?

Absolutely! Ordering from Bella&Toby™ is 100% risk-free. You can therefore order Bella&Toby™ Bed, try it out and return it free of charge within 14 days if you are not satisfied. Once we have received you return shipment, you will receive a full refund.”

They are now saying I need to provide photos and a video.  I have done this but they still won’t supply me a free post (or any!) address to return it to.  On Trust Pilot many people have only been offered a 50% refund as after sending photos, they don’t reply until after the 14 day limit and then say it’s outside the time frame.

Any advice?  I’ve paid on Visa Debit.

I can't see any actual company details on their website, but their terms:

    "SECTION 18 - GOVERNING LAW
These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Italy."

suggest you'd be dealing with Italian consumer rights.
  • Obviously I will! 😩
  • Italian rights would mirror UK in that you can inform them you are cancelling the contract within 14 days.

Probably harder to enforce these rights.

If there is an option to complain publicly on social media or something like Trust Pilot this might gain more of a result.

It won't be an Italian company. It's almost certainly Chinese.
