£1,006.28 Overpayment for July, August, September and October (I’m so behind) with the uncertainty we haven’t done a larger overpayment this year. So I think we will settle for £12k in total. Won’t hit the target but that’s still 12k extra paid off this year :)

Bah...I appear to have had to fall off the OP machine for a while. Life has got the better of my finances just now. Don't get me wrong, nothing drastic, just broken boiler, poorly pet (claiming back from insurance). The rising cost of living and of course prioritising savings at the moment as we are due to remortgage next year and I want to make sure we look like a "good prospect".
No doubt we will pay an additional amount next year to reduce the mortgage slightly at the time of actual remortgage, but we shall see. I think I'm done for this year though now sadly as we've a few of the annual bills to come out over the next couple of months.

Hi @julicorn I managed to make another overpayment of 530.80, making it £1533.73 for the month of October for #90.

I plan to overpay the remainder of my 10% fee free overpayment which is just over 3k so will definitely achieve my goal of 11k by the end of this year. Regular overpayment of £999 will take care of majority of it and I'll be making more payments when bank account allows it.

  • Hello, I would like to tack on for the end of this year please
I would also like peoples advice... Is it better to OP direct onto the mortgage? Or to save a lump sum and pay off at the end of the year?
My plan was to OP as and when we had funds, but someone told me today that we would save more interest by paying off as a lump sum before remortgaging.
