Hi, number 105 here, with my usual monthly OP of £247.94 for May, which will take me a year to date of £1239.70 in op's.

I had contemplated an additional £150 payment now the government council tax payment has been received, but have instead decided to use it to pay for  freezer/store cupboard top instead.  especially with how food prices seem to be rising at the moment so used it for that as a bit of a hedge against future increases in food costs.

Well done everyone on their OP's so far.  I have also noticed that this month payment should drop me down the next 10K bracket in my outstanding mortgage, so pleased with that!

    #53  I've got news!   :)

I started the year with a target of £3,000 (the balance of my mortgage)

Earlier this month, I overpaid £907.30

Today I phoned the bank for a FINAL figure and paid their calculated amount of £1,002.30

This brings my total OPs for this year to £2,896.75.

Add on my regular payments and minus interest - I am now officially MORTGAGE FREE!

Thank you all the lovely folk here for the inspiration and to @Julicorn and Martin.  My family have saved so much since joining this forum but, more importantly, now have the security of owning the roof over our heads  :)
