Sounds like the gate valve between the CWS tank and cylinder snapped when trying to open it so the head spins round but the gate doesn't open. After it once happened to me I never used one again preferring to stick a bung in the loft tank. Can't get the immersion loose? - all sounds like someone pretty inexperienced they've sent out.Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.0

They didn't change the stopcock! By the end of it,I just wanted them out. I don't know what the last plumber did to do the repair but in his words, the plumber prior had 'sheared the inside of stopcock'. I think it's because I said I'm thinkingg of getting a combi system this year and he was in house for 3 hours. He had to drain hot water system etc etc.0
