Side windows planning

Our house sits at an angle to neighbour. Crude diagram attached. Our house is red, neighbours is green. The boxes at the front are garages. Neighbour proposing purple extension with windows on side (in yellow). These don’t overlook our house at all really as we have a pitched roof on the garage, so no concern over them currently. But would them having windows on the side of their house here looking towards our garage impact on the likelihood of us getting planning permission to extend over our garage in the future? Over garage extensions very common our road and something we would probably like to do in the future.

You probably need a better scaled
plan than that to get a proper answer! The 45 degree rule from the centre of neighbouring windows comes into play above the ground floor.  So putting clear windows on the left wall is a no-no at first floor.  On the basis of that plan,  it looks like you'd get away with them on the rear elevation, but that isn't exactly a scaled plan!

Thanks. Sorry for bad drawing. Here is an OS map as part of the planning. We are red arrow house, neighbour doing extension as shown. Windows are planned to be where the yellow lines are. I think upper floor windows on the side part are planned to be obscure. The planning permission hasn’t been granted yet. I’m hoping that if they have windows here it won’t mean that we wouldn’t get planning permission to do an over garage extension in the future on our house, our garage is where the orange box is.

If your windows will face forward, you're fine.

I'm not entirely sure, however, that it's okay for them to have clear glass windows looking towards you like that...

A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

Based on mu understanding of planning rules, their upper floor windows would need to be obscure glass (or set at a level above internal head height), and when your proposed extension is undergoing the planning stage, the same would apply.
Keep an eye on these windows - if they suddenly go clear, report it instantly (after giving the neighb a chance to revert, of course.)
Worth also finding out - 'cos I certainly don't know - whether their windows being 'openers' is a consideration, as certainly styles can open far enough to effectively make them 'clear'...
If your only concern is about future planning for your extension, I'm pretty sure this won't affect anything (but no harm is asking Planning to confirm). If your concern is also a potential lack of privacy, then check their submitted plans carefully for the above details.
