You probably need a better scaled
plan than that to get a proper answer! The 45 degree rule from the centre of neighbouring windows comes into play above the ground floor. So putting clear windows on the left wall is a no-no at first floor. On the basis of that plan, it looks like you'd get away with them on the rear elevation, but that isn't exactly a scaled plan!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

If your windows will face forward, you're fine.I'm not entirely sure, however, that it's okay for them to have clear glass windows looking towards you like that...Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
schuey87 said:Based on mu understanding of planning rules, their upper floor windows would need to be obscure glass (or set at a level above internal head height), and when your proposed extension is undergoing the planning stage, the same would apply.Keep an eye on these windows - if they suddenly go clear, report it instantly (after giving the neighb a chance to revert, of course.)Worth also finding out - 'cos I certainly don't know - whether their windows being 'openers' is a consideration, as certainly styles can open far enough to effectively make them 'clear'...If your only concern is about future planning for your extension, I'm pretty sure this won't affect anything (but no harm is asking Planning to confirm). If your concern is also a potential lack of privacy, then check their submitted plans carefully for the above details.
