Stuck with a pre payment meter
Hi all,
Our gas and electric meters are too far apart to be able to have a smart gas meter.
We bought the house 6 months ago and it had pre payment meters installed.
Has anyone had any luck getting a smart gas meter fitted and using it as a regular credit meter, after having had a prepayment meter? Or does anyone know any companies installing the old credit meters for free?
Or does anyone know of any other ideas? I have heard there are meant to be some signal boosters coming in a year or so?
Thanks
Dave

Switching from ppm to credit also depends on your credit rating and some suppliers have a minimum periond bewteen joining them and swapping the meter. Suppliers don't really want to install dumb meters when they have targets to meet for installing smart. At the moment you will be on the PPM SVT which is cheaper than any fixed rate credit tariff.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
