Santander debit card contactless limit

Thanks for your responses.  I will look into using phone payment apps,  but as penners324 says, that is reliant on a good battery.     From the MSE FB posts on this it seems the Santander MasterCard only has the option to have contactless on or off, not set any limit.
I’ll do some research on other banks.

You can set a limit as long as you have the Santander Mastercard - https://www.santander.co.uk/about-santander/media-centre/press-releases/santander-to-allow-customers-to-set-contactless-limit
