When They Can't Be Bothered To Deliver A Parcel ?
Received an e-mail yesterday telling me a parcel I was expecting would be delivered today.  Checked the tracking this morning and
08:15 Due to be delivered today by xxxx DO
giving an estimated time of 8.45 - 10.45, the usual time our postie delivers.
Nothing arrived in that time and a non regular postie, carrying just a small bag, delivered a letter around 11.30
Checked the tracking a few times during the day and still showing as due for delivery.
At 16.51 received an e-mail from RM
Your parcel from XXX LTD has reached your local delivery office. We've received a request not to deliver mail to the property your item is addressed to today. We'll attempt delivery as per the instructions we've received, which is usually on the next working day.
I certainly did not ask for it not to be delivered and I suspect that message is so if the sender checks they think it was me when it is purely to get round their laziness and must get round some of their stats.
Our regular postie, who is an absolute star, always moans that when she has a day off the next day is horrendous with loads of unsorted mail and extra parcels to deliver as the stand in doesn't bother to do anything that is too much effort

To add insult to injury I was dragged out of bed at 7.10 this morning by the doorbell ringing !  I then checked another RM e-mail which stated it would be delivered 08.30-10.30.

To be fair RM timeslots are estimated and not a guarantee. I believe that is stated on the emails.

At least they have been.  No post in my area for a week.  In the end I ordered a box of lateral flow tests yesterday as I know they deliver those just so my outstanding post would get delivered.
They claim they have staff shortages at the depot yet wont let anyone collect their mail.  Two postcode areas are now waiting here.
  • I've got a better one that that.

Several times I've had Amazon deliveries  (via Royal Mail) which according to the tracking say that they are out for delivery. Then suddenly, lo and behold, they aren't coming!!!

The reason - "The driveway to the property was blocked."

Oh that's interesting since the 'property' in question is a Post Office and doesn't have a driveway! Neither was it at any point blocked.

That has happened 3 times now and all of them on Sundays. I complained and they lied again tried to tell me it was because the PO was closed. So I sent them a link to their own page showing that it is indeed open from 9am til 6pm on Sundays!

Presumably some lazy postie who can't be bothered to drive 4 miles from the sorting office to my Post Office.

It isn't the waiting an extra day for my item that bothers me - it is the LYING about it. If they just said they were short staffed or couldn't be bothered it would be OK.

Poor customer service. Amazon should use someone else.

I recall watching an Amazon driver pull up in the street outside my house, realise that he needed to walk up my drive in the rain and drive off.  I'd been following the tracking so all this tallied.  Next thing it was marked as 'cannot find address'.

I complained loudly to Amazon with CCTV footage and driver was back within 2 hours.

As you say, it's the lies.

Today I received two emails from RM advising that a parcel was being delivered today. The postman came and delivered one Christmas card only, after the time I'd been advised that the parcel would come. Three hours later I received an email from RM to say that because no-one was in (at no time specified) I'll have to collect it from the depot. Thankfully they do allow delivery to be re-scheduled so we'll try again tomorrow. But I honestly don't know what's going on with RM. We have two posties, one is delightful, the other isn't. (aka Mr Grumpy). I know it's a rotten job but at least it is a job. And the irony is that the parcel isn't even urgent and I was initially advised by the sender that it would be with me before Thursday. I'd like it to arrive before the weekend if at all possible but please don't lie to me!!  *ahem*
