Ford Fiesta Wheel Nut Key
Got a message from a family member who left their 2016 Ford Fiesta in yesterday for an MOT that their locking wheel nut key is missing. Can anyone confirm where exactly is it supposed to be located in this model year of car, and if it is gone do you know where the key code would be located so that she can order a new one?
Thanks

Code sometimes on the nut itself or on the tags with the keys, usually in the handbook if neither of those. Its supposed to be wherever they thought of putting it when handing over to the 1st buyer, sometimes in the packwith the handbooks etc. Sometimes in the car. If it was a used car then the previous keeper have have hidden itanywhere or not in the car at all.Plenty of kits to remove them, although it maybe cheaper to take to an independant tyre shop and get them toremove it.Ford nuts are fairly easy to remove.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

Reminder: she should get the new nuts that she wants put on before having the old ones removed. The comments I post are my personal opinion. My wife's 2016 Fiesta has the locking wheel nut key plus the Key Code Card in a small plastic bag in the glove box.
I have no doubt the garage will have already looked in the glove box.
That does not really help, other than to indicate that there is not a designated place designed to hold the wheel nut key securely / safely in a known place.

Ford did a *dealer kit* with a master key for each of the 10 variations.

In fact there is a designated place, although in a second hand car the wheel nut key may or may not be there. It's under the boot floor mat, if there's a space saver tyre you'll probably need to remove it in order to check whether the wheel nut key is in it's place along with the Ford-supplied tools. I have to say that I don't keep mine there as it's inconvenient to access, mine is in the storage compartment between the seats (although I'm not sure all models have this) and my key code is with the handbook and other documents.Grumpy_chap said:

Really? My Fiesta was bought from a Ford dealer, pre-registered with 5 miles on the clock. The locking wheel nut key was in the glove box (.and still is.).SiliconChip said:

And...where does it go if you don't have the (optional) spare tyre?#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3661 -
That's good to know, because if the key is missing then the likelihood the bag with the code has gone too. Sounds like she'll need to get them all replaced.Grumpy_chap said:My wife's 2016 Fiesta has the locking wheel nut key plus the Key Code Card in a small plastic bag in the glove box.

Have you looked under the boot mat to see if there is anything there where it would go? It may well be that when the car is delivered the wheel nut key is placed somewhere more obvious (I honestly can't remember where mine was when I picked the car up from new) but there could be a preformed slot for it to be stored as there is when there's a spare tyre supplied.

My car, not a Ford but a 2015 BMW Series1, has a hatch with a door in the left side of the boot that contains a moulded piece of plastic for storing a first aid kit, a wheel brace, a screwdriver and the wheel nut.
The battery is stored below the boot carpet where a spare wheel would have been in the past and there is room to store stuff there too.
It might be worth checking those areas if not already done.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0
