'Shelf life' of passenger locator numbers

Because of the need to do a day 2 PCR test, we now have worthless day 2 Antigen tests in our possession. The provider won't do refunds. I'm wondering if these can be kept for a future holiday in the hope the rules will change again or are the passenger locator numbers only valid for the trip for which they were booked.

Yes possibly. To the best of my knowledge the tests are not linked to trip details and only active when you add to your PLF.
Your test kit provider is probably the best point of contact for your question.1 -
You also need to check the expiry date of the test.2
