Complaining to MPs

Remember, MPs drive cars as well as members of the public, and it is very likely that a lot of MPs have been ticketed by Private Parking Companies. Unless therfore an OP has mentioned that they have done so, please remember to mention tjhis at least once on a thread.
Not long ago I was treated badly by a CC Judge whose actions I deem incompetant. As my letters to the Judge and the court manager were being ignored, I complained to my MP, Alok Sharma. Mr Sharma spoke to her and I received an apology and £100 compensation.
This was not a motoring matter and PPCs may be a lot more resilient than government agencies, but in my opinion is is worth complaining to them.

You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Since many unregulated private parking companies are now adding fake add on amounts of up to £70 to each charge for alleged debt recovery costs that they have not actually accrued, it is important as a money saving action to contact your MP if you get an unfair private parking charge about the add-ons as well as the original charge.
It is also important to ask your MP to forward your concerns to Mr Gove MP at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, and/or Neil O'Brien MP who is the Under Secretary of State for Levelling Up, the Union and Constitution, and appears to be the MP dealing with the parking bill and assessing the new mandatory parking Code of Conduct.I married my cousin. I received a response from Neil O'Brien today via my MP and it is the same template letter reported on the forum by others giving me no comfort that they were actually considering removing the "debt admin" scandal and worse, seeking to legitimise it by calling the £70 an "industry standard" - also commented on the Consultation thread.
