CRS & FATCA Individual form from HSBC

My sister received an email this morning 'HSBC UK requests your signature on CRS & FATCA Individual form'
From a bit of reading it suggests she would have received this if she was a 'reportable' person?
She has never lived or worked outside the UK. In fact she is not even a tax payer (stay at home mum). What is she supposed to do if I may ask?

Fill in the self certification form and return it, assuming she's not a dual national etc then it'll take a minute or two... just read the letter/notes0

Yup. It may seem odd but, once she's established that it's actually from the bank (rather than phishing), and that it isn't asking for anything she doesn't want to tell them, she should fill it in and send it off. The banks can get into trouble if they don't jump through all the hoops. If she doesn't send it off, it's not impossible that she'll get another unexpected letter in a couple of years to say that the account is being closed.0

It has to be completed if the person could be considered reportable. That could be based on a product held, information they hold on her or potential misinformation (same name as someone who is).
No big deal, get her to complete it and it goes awayI am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. No problem, I'll get her to first check with her bank that the email is genuine and tell her to complete it.
