Would a pizza cutter work better than a knife for cutting bread? I expect you’ve tried everything so ignore if you have 😬 Our Lab won’t touch peanut butter and won’t take anything on the tops (or people plates without permission), but anything the cat steps away from is fair game and she’s a professional beggar 😖Not all who wander are lost - J.R.R.Tolkien

The only thing that occurs to me on the toastie front -
Going to the shop, buying a pre made toastie, coming home, toasting it, eating it = full independance.
Going to the freezer and taking out a toastie previously made by Mum, toasting it, eating it = not quite so independant.
Sometimes there is more to life than the cost - and sometimes needs must and paying a higher price for something is simply what someone needs to do. Sure, in an ideal world "made from scratch" is generally best, but it's not within the reach of everyone, for all sorts of reasons. The pre-made ones are a great idea though and might well be a good money saver for someone who knows that if they didn't have a "quick easy tea" available in the freezer sometimes they'd end up at the takeaway.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

You're right @EssexHebridean - I really want him to be able to think and know where to buy food if I'm not available. He now knows that he can buy meals that he can microwave and also how to do that. He prefers M&S ready meals to the ones from Asda but life doesn't always give you M&S does it? It's not a case of lacking a skill set - he will never be able to do some things. He is officially classed as disabled and he receives PIP. He also nows how to get from one place to another via taxi if I'm not around (that's what his PIP money is for ) and if he's having a good day he can use the bus if I need to be somewhere else.4

Life definitely does NOT always give you M&S - very true indeed!
It sounds like he's doing incredibly well building his confidence and his independence - but remember that you need to take some of the credit for that, too!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
