Is there an app to manage and track pension funds?

There's usually an app for everything these days, so is there one to manage my pension funds?
If not, that could be a nice little project for my retirement.

What sort of management are you after?

Different platforms have different degrees of reporting.  However, most are web-based rather than app-based.

Something to bring all of it together. The various platforms do have their own specific applications.
As an example, I'm currently using a spreadsheet to track the total value of my assets, tell me weekly growth, so I can see what the best performers are.
With multiple pension plans though, it can get a little cumbersome to manage. I hadn't really seen anything, web based or otherwise that could bring all of it together in one place.

Trustnet has a portfolio tool which might work for you.

Any reason they cant be brought onto the same platform?
If you used an IFA, I would tell you that most IFAs have portals that bring multiple plans together for valuations, history and fund information. (usually web based).

I thought you were going to consolidate them anyway , so such an app would not be useful/necessary anyway.

Anyway measuring the performance of each pension does not tell you that much either, as presumably they are invested differently, and some in multiple funds.

More of a problem I find with multiple pensions is getting an accurate snapshot of the overall asset allocation, geographical split etc . I tried once using the Morningstar X ray tool but it does not recognise all the traditional pension funds in Standard Life, Scottish Widows etc

Yes main problem is the proprietary workplace pension funds that cannot be found on Trustnet, Morningstar, etc.

Yeah consolidation is the plan. I just thought I'm probably not alone in having multiple funds all over the place. TBH I just want to write an Android app, but nobody will give me a job doing that :)

The performance tracking was more to give me a nice feeling that I was on top of things, and I get a buzz out of seeing the numbers going up.
But I did think of possibly using the best performing fund to transfer all the others into. However the Vanguard option seems like the best thing for me to do.

Ah right, that's what you're paying for :)
Just kidding. I've got a call with an IFA lined up, so I'll see what he has to say.

Ok that would leave a bit of a hole in my view then, as all my previous pensions are from workplace schemes.

Web scraping, Excel/clones, Yahoo Finance, People clinging onto MSFT Money ancient licenses.  PDF downloads.
If you can automate the regular scrape of data for your schemes (or somewhere you move them to if archaic) onto your IT or to an AWS cloud VM then you can clearly hook up a homebrew app up to look at it if that's your thing.

But it's clearly for fun not for profit as scaling it to all combos of possible historic schemes (not all on the web) and the fund universe of fund versions and drag is well tricky. And to serve walkup customers that's what is needed.
The market price is to low to bother with it even with the large number of potential customers.  The Pensions Dashboard if it ever crawls into the light will like the SP forecast be free so there is that.

If you start helping people with the app to make choices then you are into a regulated space really quickly and any "missing data" could bite you in the backside.  FCA COP etc.

Have fun though - why the heck not
