IVA Closure Delays
Options
Hi all,
I'm having trouble getting my completion certificate from my IVA practitioner. I paid my IVA off 2 years early and final payment was made 20 weeks ago and still nothing.
I've emailed them numerous times to request an update on where they are and all I get back is their process of how to close an IVA not where mine is in this process.
I need the letter to state its been completed to private rent as I'm overcrowded in my current home, but no one will look at me without this paperwork. Is there anything I can do here? Not sure what the hold up is, they don't need to apply for PPI, as this was done at the start of my IVA which I've seen can cause delays to getting it closed.
I've sent yet another email yesterday and informed them that at the 24 week mark I will be reporting them to the Insolvency Service as anything over 6 months is seen as unreasonable and needs to be investigated automatically.
Any advice?

Hi, you’ve sort of answered your own question at the end of your post. 6 months is deemed to be an acceptable period of time for closure, anything after that can then be officially complained about.
have you checked all 3 credit reference agency reports to see if a discharge or settled status has changed on your IVA public record?
have you checked the status of the Insolvency Register?
have you moved address during the IVA process?
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.
