Like many I have built a home office/ hobby room in my garden but I am struggling to find someone who will insure the contents. My insurer and others I tried treat it as an outbuilding so the structure is covered, but the contents is limited to £3,000 cover. I can’t believe no one does insurance for garden room contents - can anyone please suggest someone they use?

What cover level do you need?
Most, as you say, cover outbuildings under their general contents insurance and its a case of choosing an insurer with an appropriate inner limit. Hiscox for example have a £10k limit1 -
since its a hobby room there will be more things in there than a simple pod - while theft doesnt bother me too much, fire etc would and £3k wasnt enough cover. I'll look into Hiscox thanksSandtree said:What cover level do you need?

Hiscox Direct is a mid net worth policy and so very high levels of cover and premiums that reflect this, was just an easy example to call out. There are others more at the mass-affluent level that could offer something slightly lower in limits but more average pricing... all depends what level you need.cookdominic said:
