Ageas Law witholding compensation and charging for ATE insurance but not telling us

Apologies if I have posted this in the wrong area, wasn't sure where to post it. Quick backstory, my Nephew was 15 in 2018, and was injured in an accident whilst his Mum was driving. I was his Litigation Friend. After the company ignored all my questions and sorting things like extra physiotherapy that the physio stated my Nephew needed, a sum was agreed. Because he was under 18 this needed to go to court, but because of coronavirus, this was held up. In fact it was agreed that it would be quicker to wait until he turned 18 this year because this would be quicker than getting a court date. On paying the compensation, Ageas Law withheld £992. They ignored all of my emails and phone calls. In the end I threatened to send continuous emails until the person dealing with this answered. That worked. The company have decided that now my Autistic Nephew is 18 they won't talk to me. Finally the company said they have withheld £241 for after the event insurance. I was not asked about this, and was not told about this nor how much this would cost. I find this excessive considering I took some out a year before, and that was £90. After I explained that he was a minor at the time of the accident, and their paperwork states no money can be taken from minors, they have agreed to refund £750. But stated a cheque will be sent in many weeks time. My questions! Can I help my Nephew to complain about the ATE that we did not know about? If there is, any help with wording. And secondly, is there a time limit on how long they have to pay this money they stole from my Nephew? Could I claim interest? They have received the compensation money so it isn't like we are waiting for that. Many thanks and apologies for the long winded question

This was done under a no win, no fee agreement rather than any legal expenses insurance?
You need to read the conditional funding agreement that was signed as this covers what is payable in the event of a win. The price and quality of ATE varies significantly just as car or home insurance does and so the fact you paid £80 in the past is no yard stick to what this case should be - it could have been the budget quality end of the market from a law firm that only does the low value easy win type stuff.
