in Techie Stuff
Hi there,
I've got a remote job and am a complete novice to teams. (really badly to it being possibly laughable but I don't have a partner/neighbour or family who can sit with me and the work's equipment and security understandably doesn't allow you to google at the point of trying to find out how to do stuff)
I notice some of the other trainees distort or blur their background - does anyone know how to do this.
It has occurred to me, can teams record you? (like cctv)
One of the trainers got a tad irritate toward end of day saying someone was trying to mute them before home time, I just worried it was me somehow - it this easy to do? I mean it's only been today I've leant/grasped how to mute my speaker and turn of camera.
Thanks

Teams has a drop-down you can use to blur the background (its a three dots symbol at the top, and they are classed as effects).Regarding recording - it can but you have to instigate it, it won't do it on its own.Re: muting, you can mute the whole chat (don't do this!) or you can mute yourself via controls at the top of the window. If you end up clicking on somebody else's name you're doing something wrong.0

You get a message in the chat box telling you if you are being recorded. With data protection, they can’t record you without your consent. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
If the person who sets up the meeting doesn't understand Teams properly they could set it up in a way that everyone is a presenter. And presenters can mute other people, including other presenters. Who can then unmute themselves, since they're presenters.
