Amazing service and praise for AO, Vent for Curry's

Last week I bought a dishwasher.

I like to see things before buying rather than choose from a photo so went to Currys.  What a fiasco, yes we have it / no we don't have it/try our other store/ coming in 2nd Dec but not guaranteed etc, etc.

But selected a model I liked, came home and ordered from AO. Same price and free delivery if you just choose the 'any time of day' option.

Got a phone call to confirm del details within an hour of ordering and was asked if we had an old machine which needed taking away. As I had seen they charge £20 for removal on the website I had asked my son to take it to the tip for me. However I was told that as this would be my first order with AO they would take it away free.

Got an email with an order number to track the order. Following morning got a text with drivers name and approx del time of 8.30 to 9.30am.  Order tracking shows where the driver is in relation to your address and tells you how many drops before yours.

Got a call from driver 10 mins before arrival and 2 really helpful guys delivered new machine and removed old dishwasher.

All done by 9am, just over 18 hours from placing order.

Amazing service from AO.

I really don't understand why people keep using currys. They have been dire for decades.

Also, agree that AO are excellent.
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.
  • I've had nothing but good service from AO as well.

Currys and PC World on the other hand....totally useless.  I bought a laptop a few years ago, sold as refurbished with a 12 month guarantee.  I started using it and it kept shutting down.  I phoned them and they took it away to be fixed, returned it and problem continued.  Sent it back again, they fitted a new motherboard and returned it to me....problem continued.  On the 3rd time I had done some research and suggested it was the battery, so they sent a new battery and the problem was solved.  These were supposed to be the "tech guys".

Last month I was up in the Lake District and saw a good deal on a camera I wanted.  Checked on the website and it said 1 left in stock in the Carlisle branch.  Drove all the way there and was told it's not in stock, it's been discontinued.  I was desperate for a camera and so was about to ask "ok, what other cameras are available"...but the bloke just walked off.  Gave my money to Amazon instead

AO are great at sorting issues in my experience.

I had a washing machine delivered and after a week it developed a fault. 1 phone call of 15 minutes (including holding time of less than a minute) i had another one on the way being delivered the next day on a weekend and as my model was out of stock it was being replaced with one i chose that was 25% more expensive!. Can't get better service than that really.
