    So I would receive  exactly the same amount but it would be beneficial to claim once she gets to 12 in order go receive credits for my pension, so may as well hold tight untill then, which is what I have been doing? I really appreciate your help.

    If you are claiming UC you are already getting Class 3 credits which count for your pension, as advised in my first reply in this thread on 29/11/2021.
    Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

    No, that age limit applies to Child Benefit. Anybody claiming UC gets Class 3 credits regardless of whether they have children.

    No, you're thinking of Child Benefit.  UC gives credits for the entire length of the claim.
