Buying kitchen appliances ourselves

Our extension is at the stage where we need to pick appliances. We’ve looked at buying ourselves and have visited some local appliance outlets as well as mainstream (Curry’s, John Lewis).
Are there other places or reputable websites to buy from (other than ao.com)?
There seems to be shortages of German brands (we were looking at Bosch) for certain appliances. We’ve also been told buy local stores this is down to the chip shortage in China. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi
To be honest you need to decide what you want to buy & then look for the best prices.
There are also some retailers that sell graded appliances

Have a look at AO outlet telford if your not fussy about them being brand spanking new. They have a website that links through to eBay. They basically sell AO appliances that have been returned under the 100 days guarantee and are fully tested and shows any damage on the photos. Have brought a few appliances from them and must admit each appliance i brought had missing bits or more damage than the photos show but any issues they deal with very quickly and efficiently and have benefitted me more than if they didnt have the extra issues. They also offer 1 year warranty on the items. On most items you can put your own offer in for the appliance.FTB - April 20201

In the last few months I've bought a few kitchen appliances and bought locally.
Looked at Currys even though they would always be a last resort, AO.com, John Lewis and local shops. All were around the same price so shopped locally.
Bought a Bosch double oven and the local shop price matched the reduced price on offer at Currys, who were also doing half price installation so the local shop matched that too.
Would always go local.1
