I like to try and do advisories where possible, avoids a failure next year and demonstrates to future buys the car is maintained.

I have even had a pre-mot and fixed advisories before the MOT

    I'd fix it now.
Nothing to do with the MOT but if they aren't aleady, worn droplinks will soon start knocking, rattling and annoying me.

Once the link gets really worn it will start to make a horrible clunking noise over bumps, on some cars it can sound like it's coming from the rear despite it being the front drop link that has failed.

It's one of those jobs that can take a few minutes or hours depending on whether the nuts seize.

I actually replaced mine yesterday, one side was 30 mins start to finish. The other side was an hour and a half due to a seized nut.

The price you paid last time of £109 for both was really good.

Don't be tempted to buy cheap drop links off eBay or Amazon there are a lot of fakes out there that will only last a short period of time before failing again.
  • So long as its actually worn .I had two advisories, both split gaiter on the the anti roll bar, decided to change them, guess what? Not split at all. Easy few quid for the garage if I'd let them change them
