Cashback Offer

Options
Hi,

I recently bought some Samsung appliances from an online retailer that claimed I could get £100 cashback from Samsung. When I have come to claim this it transpires that they are not a participating retailer - they told me I could get cashback via an email, on their website, over the phone and on the invoice, and I have evidence for both the email and the invoice. Do I have any rights here? It feels to me that the retailer should honour the cashback claim otherwise it is false advertising,

thanks in advance!

  • Yes, if you were promised the cashback and it’s the retailer’s fault you can’t claim it you should be able to hold them to account.
  • However don't expect them to just roll over. You would probably need to send a LBA and then go down the small claims route if they ignore you.

I'm assuming the £100 cashback made them the cheapest retailer to buy them from?

I would get onto the retailer, send a screenshot showing they are not eligible to offer the £100 cashback, so ask them to either honour the deal themselves and refund £100, or you would like to return all goods and they will need to arrange a courier for them to be collected.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
