We were due to travel to Spain in December with our 13 year old son who has had one vacation and therefore is classed as unvaccinated by Spain so is now unable to enter Spain.

Given this would the airline, Ryanair unfortunately, have to cancel and refund or give vouchers for the flights for him and or us as his parents?

If the flight is available then Ryanair is not obligated to refund you or offer vouchers unless the terms and conditions you booke dunder stated that - did you book refundable or any form of flexi tickets - does your booking show any offers of moving dates ?

  • Thank you for your reply. These we booked pre-covid and moved twice fee free under Ryanair terms which allowed this up to end of December this year. Like most people I went for the basic (cheapest) option given that Covid was unheard of at the time of booking.
I have a couple of weeks before the flights so looks like my best option is to move them again and take the hit on the fees.
  • I’d move the flights, yes - entry requirements aren’t Ryanair’s problem so they don’t have to do anything.

Indeed, and to be fair there is nothing stopping most of the party going.

It depends how much you paid for your flights in the first place -Ryanair charge £45 fee each way for each passenger to change flights ( as you have already used up the fee free option )
