*** Oops, wrong section, supposed to be in the Hire car part! ""

Hey all,
Any of u ever booked a car hire with "GotRentalCars"  (BSP Auto), for USA car hire ??
I made a booking with them earlier for US car hire, which will be with AVIS (hoping i can talk to a UK AVIS rep on Monday to clarify a few things)...

Reason for the post is, just wondered if anyone recently made a booking with them for a future rental ?
The booking i made is for early May, yet the email i got says car is booked, shows an AVIS ref number, but it states "Full prepaid value will be taken around 29th April 2022" .....
Thats got alarm bells ringing for me, as a prepaid rate should be just that, prepaid right now.....

My gut feeling is,  they have booked a provisional slot, maybe, but done in a way that they could cancel my booking last minute in case rates stay stupid high,.....  and not honour my booking (booking with the Broker that is)...    It would lead to a "Loss of Bargain" , but more importantly, put 3 of us in a pickle, as we would be forced to rent last minute at what might potentially be a massive cost.....
**Guess i should have read the Google reviews before writing this post, as my fear of them cancelling last minute on me, have been reading that from folks who left reviews of the same nature!  hmmmmmmmmmmmm **

The saying of "too good to be true" rang out earlier, as 9 days rental from SFO to LAX,  for a FFAR , inc fuel , all for £833 ...........   when average is like £1300 !!!! hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Not what you are asking but have a look at Auto Europe who are also a broker. Often get free cancellation up to 48 hrs before rental commences. I've used them for years renting in Europe and never had a problem with a booking.
Sorry I can't think of anything profound, clever or witty to write here.

used auto europe quite a few times over the years, and 9 out 10 UK brokers have free cancellation, etc :)
Weirdly, i got a 1 week booking with auto europe for an FFAR (full size suv) in Vegas in June, which showed up at £520 for a week, which is an amazing price, using Dollar as the renter..  I booked it the other day, havent got an email from them, but when i log into my account, it shows a confirmed booking, with Dollar ref number,   but the weird part is, the transaction as of yesterday dissappeared from my credit card!
    hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm !

  • I'm thinking of doing exactly the same, using gotrentalcars.com for 2 weeks from SFO in April... rate is about £1000 for 2 weeks for an SUV...apparently with Hertz.... just wondering if i'm missing something??
