Hi
Im with eon and for the last few months i have been trying to sort out why my bills are so high. They wanted to take my dd from £90 to £249. There is me and my two boys thats at 18mths and 9yr living here.
They refuse to check the meters, I put a complaint in about 1.5mths ago and I went on live chat last week to see if there was an update as I had not heard anything. They said they had closed my complaint on the same day I made it as a 'business decision'! I put another in as an email and they didnt even register it.
I put in a complaint with the ombudsman and they have replied to them querying the validity of my complaint!
I had a guy from Eon banging my door the other day about the outstanding balance and he said he would check my meters for me... he just checked the meter readings. And made me agree to set a dd up for 225 a month before he would leave.
I feel very trapped, harrassed at the amount of txt, emails, calls and letter they keep sending and I feel so depressed, I can not see away out of it.
They know of my mental health and disability issues, and they know my childrens have additional needs to.
Im willing to pay for my gas and electricity like any other bill, but they will not listen to me and will not check my meters are working correctly. They just keep saying they are recieving meter readings!
Any help would be great please.

Please forget £'s for the time being.
Please post the meter readings as they appear on your bills - include the letters A, C and E.
Also what is the bottom line on the bills - are you in credit or debt. If you owe money it may well be that you £99 DD has not been enough and the supplier is paying catch up.
Can you read the meters please - watch out for the decimal point. The electric is easy look for kWh on the screen; for gas look for m3. Check the serial numbers - are they the same on the meter as on the bill. When were the Smart meters installed - there will be a sticker on them.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
Keep a spreadsheet of your electric and gas readings, I take daily electric and weekly gas readings. Some suppliers just estimate monthly readings then give a true figure near the end of the financial year, any bill that has an E before the numbers is an estimated reading C means it's a customer reading. If you don't have any office software download something like Libre office.
Do you have smart meters? If so then you probably have an IHD (in home display) you can get usage readings off that, it should give day, week and monthly usage.
If you don't have a smart meter then look at a bill that's around 12 months old and take a present meter reading, this won't give an exact total but a near one, subtract the 12 month old reading from the present reading, if it a smart meter this will give the number of kWh, if not then some working out will be needed to get the kWh. Multiply the kWh by the latest bills prices per kWh and the daily charge by 365, do the same for the gas, this will give you roughly the price they have charged you for electric & gas then multiply by 12 the monthly payments, £90, and deduct this from the total for the usage of electric & gas.
This will give you either a debit or credit balance.
Someone please tell me what money is1 -
I am not with EON but they have an app that you can download it should be able to show you how much gas / electric you use on a daily/weekly/monthly basis & show you the meter readings Also the guy should not enter your house & demand anything. You should of asked him to leave & if he refused call the police. I would call the complaints dept. Plus if can visit a local citizens ctr that may help.

Chances are both meters are working fine.
are you paying enough for what you use?
if someone is banging your door, I would imagine they have started to instigate warrant proceedings to switch the meters to prepay?
are you in debt?Be happy, it's the greatest wealth1 -

They wanted to take my dd from £90 to £249.Your DD is of course not your bill...You appear to have been underpaying for some time and have got into debt so the DD has to go up to recover the amounts owed.If you post some of the information that has been asked for we can work out what you are actually using and what that means in terms of a monthly payment to match the bill and then from there how much you owe for previous use.Unlikely, but not impossible that the meter is faulty but giving the information requested will help to show if this is a likely issue...
