Buying wool online

Thank you.. I agree that charity shops are cheapest for lots of things, although I’ve never seen knitting pins in my local charity shops. I’m also specifically looking for bamboo pins, which tend to be affordable. I was shocked by the price of some of them, mind!millie said:

@fl@flipflopflo, thank you so much for this! Just what I am looking for! I normally do patchwork quilts, and sewing projects, so taking up knitting and crochet is a nice side hobby, and some company will be lovely!flipflopflo said:@BellaLasagna2018, sorry no idea for shops but there is a lovely Chat group over on the Crafters board if you’re looking for some company

Woolwarehouse always has a 10% discount code published in the craft magazines, if you search online you should be able to find one. They are very good for speedy delivery .

BellaLasagna-ask in your local charity shop if they have knitting needles. When I worked in one we used to keep them under the counter.0

I think you may have to ask if they have them. I do remember sometime ago asking in the shop and the lady said they didn’t have them out on display. Something about them being dangerous if picked up by children. Seemed a bit odd but they had them behind the counter. Not sure you would get bamboo though.BellaLasagna2018 said:

No problem at all, it’s not my thing but I’ve eavesdropped a couple of times when I’ve looked at the Crafters forum and they seem like good sorts. I’m a Sewist as well and possibly thinking of doing something like rag rugging in the new year.BellaLasagna2018 said:

Used kemps before now, their clearance section is usually pretty good.

Wool warehouse is great for when I've got a specific project in mind. Aldi have wool often as well. They had Aran reduced yesterday.

Or ask on Facebook. Someone was giving away a huge amount of needles the other day and very often I see wool either privately sold or an online shop selling on there, or even free. I'm fortunate that there is a wool shop in the village I live in. They also do clothing and curtain alterations which is why I think they have been going for so long. Wool shops are a dying breed unfortunately.millie said:

I cant decide what to knit even though I have some wool, so I'm thinking of spending some time learning the continental way to knit since I saw it on Kirsties Homemade Christmas sweater programme.1 -
There isn’t indoor market in the city I live close to, and I like going there, because I like to support a small business that has been there for years, but as this is the silly season, the city gets too busy for my taste, even more so now with the pandemic.p00 said:
