Question about fitting new Processor for Laptop so I can Upgrade to Windows 11

I bought a new Laptop during lockdown that cost £349.00. I didnt have a lot of choice due to the lack of supply during this time, normally I would have spent £500.00. The laptop had Windows 10 installed on it. I have recently found out that it's not going to be compatible with Windows 11 due to the Processor. My last Laptop lasted many years and upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 without any problems. Roughly how much will it cost to buy a new Processor and get it fitted so I can run Windows 11.

Depends upon the laptop as many cannot swap processor without extreme expense .

Win 11 determine if you can use it based on generation of CPU.
You won't be able to upgrade if your current laptop not support as it is do with the socket of the motherboard.
Win 10 support until 2025.
Buy a new laptop Win 11 in 2025.1 -
Does the laptop meet Windows 11 TPM requirements?
You can add a simple line to the registry which will allow you to install Windows 11 on an unsupported processor. I have done it and it works.
Google something like 'install windows 11 bypass cpu requirements'2 -

If you're going to need help to determine whether you really can upgrade I think you'll need to tell us more than that, I don't know how many models of laptop HP make (and have made in the past) but I'd expect it to be in the thousands.

You haven't actually said why you feel the need to change to W11.Why not just stick with W10? Ain't broke, don't fix! Simples.0

The only component that is not compatible with Windows 11 is the processor. I have checked this. I will google installing Windows 11 by bypassing cpu requirements, thanks for the info,cx6 said:Does the laptop meet Windows 11 TPM requirements?

Good point. I will find out the model later on and posted it on the forum over the weekend.SiliconChip said:sarahj1990 said:Its a HP Laptop.

The odds are not in my favour if 99% are not upgradeable.Browntoa said:99% of laptop CPU are soldered these days and not upgradeable0
